The College is committed to ensure the holistic development of the students through a student-centric learning process and suitable curriculum design. The departments adopt the following strategies in varying degrees to make learning more students-centric and ensure the holistic development of the students:
An internship is the best way to translate the classroom knowledge into practice. By doing an internship, the students will gain experience, learn new skills, add value and earn real experience for their career prospects
An internship allows a student to:
- Expand the knowledge and understanding of the fields;
- Contact the network professionals and administrators in the fields; and
- Gain hands on training and professional experience.
The students of departments of B.Com (ABA) have to undertake the Institutional training programme. Duration of the institutional training is 120 Hours in the middle of their I, III, V and VI Semesters. The main objective of this training programme is to give optimum exposure to the practical side of Commerce and Industry.
Industry visit is a part of the Education, during which students visit companies and get insight into the internal working environment of the company. It also sensitizes students to the practical challenges that organization face in the business world. Moreover, it gives exposure to the practical working environment, which increases functional awareness of the various Industrial sectors; acquaint students with Interesting facts and breath-taking technologies. In addition to industrial exposure and knowledge, this will increase the internship and placement opportunities. Industrial realities are opened to the students through their industrial visits.
Case study is a powerful student-centered teaching strategy that can impart students with critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Besides lectures, case study methods are also employed to ensure the active involvement of the students in the teaching-learning process. Case method is also an effective tool in understanding real world with professional skills. Working on case studies requires good organizational and time management skills. It increases student proficiency with written and oral communication, as well as collaboration and team-work
Projects and Field practicum
The best way to master a subject is by doing projects. Through a project the students not only get a deeper understanding of the subject but also gain hands-on practical experience. By doing a project, the students will

Guest Lectures, Seminar & Workshops
As part of academic development, associations of all the departments arrange guest lectures and seminars throughout the year on topics of core subjects, Career oriented lectures, recent technologies and research areas periodically. Through the association, the students are encouraged to attend seminars and present papers organized by other reputed institutions. In addition to that supporting centers of the Institution extend their activities in providing / arranging guest lectures, seminars and workshops.
The participative learning can be adopted at Institution‐based practice through conducting student exhibitions refers to projects, presentations, or products through which students “exhibit” what they have learned. An exhibition is typically both a learning experience in itself and a means of evaluating academic progress and achievement.
Competitions play a role in motivating students to perform and excel and offer a lot more reward than just the winning prize. Students get a chance to gain substantial experience, showcase their skills, analyze and evaluate the outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. They also encourage students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills.
‘Hackathon’ live video session of MHRD, an initiative of AICTE
The Smart India Hackathon is a promoted innovation, out-of-the-box thinking in young minds. It is focused on the problems of social importance as identified by 29 Ministries/Departments of Government of India. Leadership talks are broadcast through Facebook Live session. Orientation and awareness programs have been conducted by AICTE in 26 different cities to motivate students. STC professional programme students participated in this live video sessions and gained the subject knowledge
Computer Society of India (CSI)
STC holds the membership in CSI. The students and staff members participate in the meetings arranged by CSI Coimbatore Chapter. The CSI student chapter is also established at STC.
Coimbatore Management Association (CMA)
On every Monday, The Coimbatore Management Association arranges a meeting in the name of “Monday Musings” at Coimbatore. Our students and staff members from the PG & Research Department of Management Science participate in the meeting and enrich their knowledge. Our students have received Best student award from the CMA – Student Chapter for the past 7 years
National Institutional Personal Management (NIPM) student chapters
The Faculty and Students from the PG department of Social work & Management studies formed the NIPM student chapter. Through the same the HR Executives and Managers are invited to our institution to share their expertise.
NPTEL, SWAYAM Online courses and NDL Registration
Online learning has to be the greatest revolution in contemporary education system. It has made a huge change in the system and opened great opportunities for everyone who wants to learn something very innovative. STC guides the students to enroll in the courses offered by NPTEL, Spoken tutorials, SWAYAM etc,
Rotract Program – ‘As I Evolve’
Monthly once our STC students are attending the “As I Evolve” – a leadership program organized by Rotract Club focusing on the trust areas. The students are motivated to develop their personality, attitude, and leadership qualities.
STC encourages students to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities through the various club at STC. Beyond the class room experience students are identified and supported to explore and pursue a passion or develop a new interest in their unique journey. Club activities supplement student academics and give them practical training which they require in their day to day life and enhance their talents.
Soft Skill/Capability Enhancement Training Program
STC jointly with Talent sprint Academy, Hyderabad trains our students for skill development. These training programs help our students to prepare towards career development and also in their higher studies.
